Happy Friday Everyone,
My son plays a lot of baseball and I always wondered what would be a good use for them when they get old. I noticed some of the baseballs where torn and had spots on them. My son told me that he couldn't use them anyone and they had "to retire." I hated them to get thrown out, so I decided a new purpose for them-necklaces! With just a few easy steps and a baseball, I was able to complete this necklace.

I found these bezels at Michael's for very little money and decided to add a piece of the outer baseball hide. So I cut the ball apart and took off the skin. Then I created a template and marked it the shape on the wrong side of the hide. I thought it would be nice if I included some of the stitching.
Next I cut out the shape and super glued it into the bezel. The last item was to add the Ice Resin to protect the baseball hide. I had never used this product before but it was so each. One tube of resin will do about 4-5 bezels. You simply squeeze out the resin and mix. Then I used a craft stick to drizzle the resin onto the bezel. I would check it preiodically to see if there were any bubbles, I popped them if I saw any. Then I let it dry for 8-10 hours per the instructions. Now I have two beautiful baseball necklaces one is pewter and one in antique gold. Each design is unique, one of a kind. This craft only took me about 15 minutes to do, the drying time took long.
Thanks for stopping by!
